It looks like my brother and his ex-wife MIGHT be getting back together. I may be "counting my chickens before they hatch," but I can't help but be excited. You see, my brother and (former) sister-in-law have a child together (my precious, precious nephew) and, when they divorced, my sister-in-law never stopped being part of the family in our eyes. She still came to all of the family gatherings and often my brother and she came together. Currently, it looks like they may be getting back together and we couldn't be happier. Only time will tell though.

Hi all. I don’t know how many regular readers I have, but I know I have a few. I just wanted to let you all know that I haven’t been posting as much and won’t be posting as much because I now have a personal website. I will still be posting from time to time though because at least on here I can remain semi-anonymous. So…keep on checking in.

Today, I saw a neat sight – a horse drawn carriage going down the shoulder of a main highway. It wasn't the kind that people pay to take rides on, but an actual horse-drawn carriage that someone uses for transportation. Why, you ask. The Amish, of course. The Amish have always fascinated me. We live in a technology-filled world, yet these people choose to keep to the old ways. It is not that they don't have the capability, the money, or the intelligence for it, they simply choose to live a simpler life. And, wow, how much of a simpler life it is. We have so many things that are supposed to make our lives less complicated. We have phones to talk to people and cell phones in case we're not close enough to our phones. We have cars and the expense of caring for those cars. TV, computers, email, Internet, cell phones, laptops, Ipods, microwaves…sometimes I think that it is the Amish who've got it right.

Well, after a month, he finally got his trailer back and moved out. Actually, it was more like he moved away because the day he moved out was also the day that he moved away. I was so sad to see him leave, but all good things must come to an end. One thing good about him living with me (besides the fact that it was a blast) is that I think it really cemented our friendship. I think and hope that we will keep in touch for a very long time now. Friends forever, right?

Thursday at 1:15 my 8th period class walked out of my room for the last time. I am so happy to be able to say that I survived. Now, here comes summer!!

His birthday was on Thursday. I decorated the house for him. Had stringers hanging all over the door to his room, balloons piled in front of it. He had to break through the streamers to get out. Hehe. He was so surprised. He kept saying that it was the best birthday ever. The next day I gave him his bday present. I took a wooden airplane (he has his private pilot's license) and wrote one of his poems about flying on it. Such a cool present. He told me later, "by the way, you're the one that made my birthday spectacular."

Last night, he and I drove into SA together. We left right after work. I met his parents, played with his dog, watch the Spurs game on their couch. Forgive me for feeling confused, but sometimes it seems like we're married, not to mention dating.

I typed in the long version of this story, but wordpress lost it, so you now get the short version. Sorry.

After going around and around with a student, she told me: "don't you fucking start with me, Ms. S."

Now, I'm only 25 so it hasn't been that long since I've been in school. I NEVER would have spoken to a teacher like that. NEVER. I wouldn't have even said it minus the F-word. I have to ask myself, "what is this world coming to?" and better yet, "someday, when I have children, am I going to want to send my kids out into a world like this?"

I believe it's been about 3 weeks since my best friend moved in with me when his air conditioner went out. The first few days he drove me crazy, but now we have settled into a routine. Quite frankly, I am not looking forward to the day when he tells me that his a.c. got fixed. I know it might sound crazy, but it's a load of fun having him around and it makes living in a tiny town an hour & a half away from family much less lonely.
